Hello, I'm Alicia! I'm a yoga teacher and student physiotherapist.
Our busy society pulls us in many directions. My aim is to create on the mat a safe space for students to listen to their own inner compass.
I aim to meet my students wherever they are in their yoga journey (beginners and advanced practitioners alike) and both challenge and support them. I invite students to explore and learn about their own body with curiosity and lack of judgement. I teach functional movement, using the principles of physiotherapy and intelligent sequencing to support students in their day to day, addressing the imbalances that arise from our modern lifestyle. I teach students about anatomy and biomechanics, empowering them through knowledge of their own body.
Through connection to their bodies, students may find a profound connection to the deepest parts of themselves, and discover the true power and joy that is already within them.
Our beautiful Kula (community of the heart) stems from all the places I have taught to date and aims to be an open space for connection for all.
I am a LYT Yoga® 200h certified teacher, with a Level 2 qualification in special populations (pre and post-natal, athletes, seniors). LYT Yoga® is grounded in the principles of physical therapy and neurodevelopmental training to yield smarter and safer movement patterns. I am also a 200h certified Anusara Elements yoga teacher. My teaching has also been influenced by Forrest yoga and by the teachings of Adriene Mischler.
1-to-1 classes designed for you
Is this for me?
These personalised classes are available for those who are wishing to obtain guidance on a 1-to-1 basis. These sessions could be interesting for you if
you have questions that are specific to your practice and would like some advice,
you're struggling with a particular pose or transition, or
you would like me to develop a sequence tailored to you needs.
How does it work?
Before the 1-to-1 class I ask you about your goals and tailor the class specifically to this. We can then schedule the class at a time that is most convenient for you, in person or online.
`How much does it cost?
Online 1-to-1 classes are priced at £35 for a 45 minutes class. In person 1-to-1 classes are priced at £60 for a 60 minutes class. Discounted class passes are available.
My 1-to-1 class with Alicia was fantastic! She tailored the class exactly to my needs and brought a deep focus on technique and alignment. Alicia’s directions are clear and precise, and she has a fantastic way of communicating creating a welcoming and safe environment to practice and have fun! I saw improvement in my technique with poses I had previously struggled with after just one session. I highly recommend a 1-to-1 class for anyone wanting personalised guidance and support.
For years now I’ve sought physio, massage and other forms of therapy to deal with a range of physical ailments (joint pains, muscle tightness, misalignment, shortness of breath). Despite some progress, I’ve felt stuck on some issues for a while and needed a reset. I recently met with Alicia for a 1-on-1 class and was blown away! Unlike some therapists who’ve rushed me in and out the door, Alicia listened carefully to my needs and my own understanding of what my ailments are. By crossing this with her own knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, and by slowly working me through a flow routine tailored to my issues, she helped me to identify a series of imbalances that I didn’t know I had. Unlike previous practitioners, Alicia took the time to work through movements slowly enough and with enough precision for me to really feel where I was off kilter. Alicia then helped me to develop a plan for my own practice – a set of daily exercises to help me deal with these issues at home, with a strong focus on form and precise movement. In two weeks I’m already feeling stronger, looser and better adjusted, and can’t wait for more! I extend a heartfelt recommendation to anyone in search of a holistic practitioner who can help address body pains with skill and genuine compassion.
After practising at home for over a year, I decided to book a 1:1 class with a yoga teacher to take a closer look at my practice and correct the bad habits I developed.
If I had to sum up my experience being guided by Alicia, I would say that my practice was never the same after a session with her. I had that “Eureka” moment, and suddenly everything just started to make sense!
Before the first class I had pain in my left shoulder but thought it was because of sitting in my desk all day, so I didn’t mention it. But all it took for Alicia was a quick glance through the screen to know what I was doing wrong and I was impressed when she mentioned my left shoulder particularly. After only one 1:1 session with her, she helped me correct my alignment and the pain disappeared to never come back.
Alicia transmits her passion for yoga and takes the time to explain in plain language the why’s and how’s. She is invested in your practice and will patiently guide you until you get it right.

We all have a compass within us that guides our way but it gets a little off kilter sometimes, pulled by all the forces of the world around us: our busy lives, other people's expectations, our routine. It needs recalibrating from time to time. This retreat is an invitation to do just that.
Start your days with meditation and an energising yoga practice overlooking the beautiful valley of Foz do Lisandro, swim in the ocean, play in the sand, journal, watch the sunset, eat delicious food, practice restorative yoga by candlelight, gather around the fire, share stories. Slowly you may start to remember...

Our beautiful 5 bedroom villa is located in a peaceful village 10 minutes walk from Sao Juliao beach on the rugged coast of Ericeira (Portugal). The villa overlooks the valley of Foz do Lizandro and has two terraces, a garden and a pool. Indoors, the main living room has spectacular views over the valley and a large open fire.
With only 9 spaces available, you will benefit from my individual attention during our yoga classes. Yoga classes in the morning will be dynamic and designed to challenge you, whilst evening classes will be restorative and relaxing. There will be sprinkles of meditation, journalling and some surprises.
Arrival and departure
The retreat will begin on Friday evening with a welcome dinner (however, you are more than welcome to join from 4pm onwards, depending on your travel time) and will finish on Monday morning after our last yoga practice and brunch. The closest airport is Lisbon Airport, 35min away from the villa by car.

£350 per person for double occupancy, sharing a king bed

£700 for single occupancy with ensuite bathroom, super king bed, and views of the valley
